Statistics This Country Should Be Ashamed Of!

This country claims to have a non-sexist society, and one that is a bastion of equal opportunities - an example of what a civilised country should be for the world to follow!

Well, the truth is somewhat different from the rosy picture portrayed by this government.

The appallingly high cases of domestic violence shows that to be a lie, built on complacency!

The police are putting women's lives and health and safety at risk by ignoring the issues of domestic violence completely, by letting off the perpetrators with a 'slap on the wrist' order, designed to be used for petty crime.

Not only does this let the offender off, it offers no protection whatsoever for the victim, makes her more vulnerable, and deters women from reporting the incidents.

Men too who suffer from domestic violence, are being put at risk by this dangerous police complacency.
